We think that workplace culture plays a very important role in the overall success of our firm and the experience of our clients – team members who enjoy coming to work and like where they work are always going to go above and beyond. That is why we put such strong emphasis on who we hire and how they fit into our team – they have to care about the work they do and the experience of their clients as much as the rest of us do!
We’re proud of the team that we have built and that fact that we all actually like coming to work, we’re also proud that so many of our team stick around for the long-haul!
For example, our Legal Assistant, Jane Abbott has been with our firm for four years today (2nd of June 2018)! So we decided to see why she has stuck around and what she is looking forward to in the future.
Catching up with Jane to reflect on her four years at Gouldson Legal
How is Gouldson Legal different to other places you’ve worked at?
Gouldson Legal is different in many ways! I honestly think we’re the exception to stereotypes in our industry. Gouldson’s ethos is to always put the clients first and ensure that they’re best off.
A similar attitude is taken with staff and a healthy work/life balance. Our happiness and well being is at the top of the list to ensure that we enjoy coming to work every day and this is reflected in our standard of work and the feedback we receive from clients.
How would you describe the culture at Gouldson Legal in 5 words?
Team. Genuine. Integrity. Opportunity. Fun.
What is your favourite thing about your role at Gouldson Legal?
There are many things I like about my work. I really enjoy that I’m not just a pen pusher and I get the opportunity to speak to all of my clients on a daily basis and I am seen as a equal contact point to the lawyer running their claim.
I’ve always loved helping people and it’s great for someone to give you the opportunity to do that in (more often than not) a very difficult time. It’s because of this that I strive to achieve the best results for my clients and it’s so satisfying to get feedback that reflects this.
How do you think the firm, and your role, will change in the coming year?
I think our growing exposure, brand power and unique approach to this industry will see further growth.
We’re also relocating to a new office and seeing the designs unfold for somewhere where you spend A LOT of your time is really exciting. I think it’s going to be refreshing to be in a new vibrant space and I can tell that everyone is already so eager to be at their new desk!
Most importantly, where are you planning your next holiday?!
I’m glad you asked! I’m not very well traveled outside of Australia so that was one of my new year’s resolutions.
I’m headed to Hawaii in September for a summer girls trip with a healthy balance of adventure and relaxation.
Hiking, swimming with the turtles and maybe even a shark dive is on the cards, but I cannot wait to kick back on a sun lounge with a cocktail in hand and just relax.
