We think that workplace culture plays a very important role in the overall success of our firm and the experience of our clients – team members who enjoy coming to work and like where they work are always going to go above and beyond. That is why we put such strong emphasis on who we hire and how they fit into our team – they have to care about the work they do and the experience of their clients as much as the rest of us do!
We’re proud of the team that we have built and that fact that we all actually like coming to work, we’re also proud that so many of our team stick around for the long-haul!
For example, our Lawyer, Jennifer Mougan has been with our firm two years today (7th of September 2017)! So we decided to see why she has stuck around and what she is looking forward to in the future.
Catching up with Jen to reflect on her two years at Gouldson Legal
What is your favourite thing about working at Gouldson Legal?
My favourite thing about working at Gouldson Legal would have to be the people I work with and the fact that we have office dogs!
There is a great culture and vibe in our firm and many friendships have developed which makes coming to work so easy. We have a very talented group of people working here and I feel fortunate to be able to work alongside them all.
All in all, I am a big dog person so being able to have dogs around me throughout the day is kind of like a dream come true!
What was the firm like when you started?
When I first started at Gouldson Legal, I found that it was a small close knit firm and kind of like its own little family.
How has the firm changed in your time here?
Gouldson Legal is also really big on career development and promoting employees internally. Because of this, I have seen many staff members who have been promoted, which also makes way for some new external talent to join our firm.
I too have risen through the ranks at Gouldson Legal! I’m now a lawyer, alongside our expert team, but originally I joined the team as a legal assistant while completing my studies. I’m not the only team member who has had the opportunity to complete their studies while working at Gouldson Legal – I think it’s great to see a number of young legal professionals taken on by the firm and eventually promoted through into roles like mine.
What are you looking forward to in your coming year with Gouldson Legal?
As our firm is still going through a growth phase, I am excited to see how we will continue to develop and what challenges will be thrown our way to keep us on our toes.
How do you spend your time away from the office?
When I’m not in the office I’m usually trying to catch up with friends and family or spending some time outdoors with my dogs.
