We think that workplace culture plays a very important role in the overall success of our firm and the experience of our clients – team members who enjoy coming to work and like where they work are always going to go above and beyond. That is why we put such strong emphasis on who we hire and how they fit into our team – they have to care about the work they do and the experience of their clients as much as the rest of us do!

For example, our Lawyer David Chambers has been with our firm for a year today (22nd of May 2018)! So we decided to see why he has stuck around and what he is looking forward to in the future.
Catching up with David to reflect on his first year at Gouldson Legal
How is Gouldson Legal different to other places you’ve worked at?
Various law firms can be distinguished by file management systems, a collaborative approach when addressing legal issues, a dedicate support staff and the autonomy to engage specialist providers that range across numerous professions. Gouldson Legal is a law firm that encourages and supports all of these attributes, which ultimately reflects on the outcome of a matter by producing the very best results for my clients.
There is a professional ethos at Gouldson Legal that I have not experienced in the past.
How would you describe the culture at Gouldson Legal in 5 words?
Interactive, approachable, productive, social and dedicated.
What is your favourite thing about your role at Gouldson Legal?
My ability to develop professional relationships that are supported by the firm ultimately achieves the best possible outcomes for my clients. Gouldson Legal is a client focused organisation that has implemented purposeful systems, which enables me to achieve the best possible results.
Having served as a police officer in two States, I am passionate about assisting our emergency services and it is commendable that management recognises the particularities of these matters. Consequently, it is Gouldson Legal’s willingness to appreciate the uniqueness of each claim and to ‘go the extra mile’ to obtain the required evidence to support clients’ claims.
The unequivocal support and dedication of my legal assistant Jane Abbott, ensures that administrative issues are addressed proficiently. The firm’s overall approach, combined with dedicated staff certainly makes a significant difference upon the conclusion of matters.
How do you think the firm, and your role, will change in the coming year?
I am committed to the continual development of strong professional relationships with experts so that my clients can be provided with the best possible support available.
Most importantly, where are you planning your next holiday?!
My wife and I have a trip to the Hunter Valley planned for her birthday this year. I’m very much looking forward to celebrating her birthday and drinking some exceptional wine together.
