We think that workplace culture plays a very important role in the overall success of our firm and the experience of our clients – team members who enjoy coming to work and like where they work are always going to go above and beyond. That is why we put such strong emphasis on who we hire and how they fit into our team – they have to care about the work they do and the experience of their clients as much as the rest of us do!
We’re proud of the team that we have built and that fact that we all actually like coming to work, we’re also proud that so many of our team stick around for the long-haul!
For example, our Lawyer, Brigitta Smith has been with our firm five years ago today (1st of July 2018)! So we decided to see why she has stuck around and what she is looking forward to in the future.
Catching up with Brigitta to reflect on her year at Gouldson Legal
How is Gouldson Legal different to other places you’ve worked at?
I’ve actually only ever worked at Gouldson in my legal career!
I’ve done everything from admin to solicitor here and worked my way up as I completed my studies, so I don’t really have anything to compare my legal experience to! It is obviously very different from being a lifeguard which I was in my previous life!
How would you describe the culture at Gouldson Legal in 5 words?
Close-knit. Client Driven. Office Dogs.
What is your favourite thing about your role at Gouldson Legal?
I really enjoy helping people and trying to make the legal process as easy as possible for clients to navigate. I love getting a great result for people who deserve it.
Every client and every claim is different and that makes the days interesting.
How do you think the firm, and your role, will change in the coming year?
We are moving offices in September so that will be exciting, I’m looking forward to seeing how the new office layout will change the vibe for us as staff, but also for clients coming to visit our offices.
Over the next year I will also continue to grow my own file load and I am excited to be able to help more clients and continue to learn and grow in my role.
Most importantly, where are you planning your next holiday?!
I’m actually off to Hawaii this week! I’m super excited to be swapping winter coats and jackets in the city for some togs and cocktails on a Hawaiian beachside! Later in the year I am off to the Maldives in September for my honeymoon!
The bank account will need to recover for a while after these trips so the next holiday will probably be a long way down the track.
