We think that workplace culture plays a very important role in the overall success of our firm and the experience of our clients – team members who enjoy coming to work and like where they work are always going to go above and beyond. That is why we put such strong emphasis on who we hire and how they fit into our team – they have to care about the work they do and the experience of their clients as much as the rest of us do!
We’re proud of the team that we have built and that fact that we all actually like coming to work, we’re also proud that so many of our team stick around for the long-haul!
For example, Kaine Shanahan, a Senior Associate, has been with our firm five years today (11th of February 2018)! So we decided to see why he has stuck around and what he is looking forward to in the future.
Catching up with Kaine to reflect on his five years at Gouldson Legal
What is your favourite thing about working at Gouldson Legal?
I really enjoy the collegial work environment and the fact that there is a real client-first focus in how claims are approached. This ensures that we are achieving the best result possible for each and every client and always consider their individual circumstances.
I also appreciate the fact that despite everyone in the office being super busy, no one takes themselves too seriously and everyone enjoys having a catch up and a laugh!
What was the firm like when you started?
I guess this is pretty similar for most of us who have been here a little while – the firm was smaller when I started, less staff and probably a little less busy. Over my time here we have grown so much, our numbers are continuing to grow and we’re the busiest I have ever seen us – which is really exciting to be a part of!
How has the firm changed in your time here?
The firm has definitely expanded in size since I started, in both the number of new clients through the door and staff numbers – I think this growth is a real endorsement of the service we provide to our clients.
The firm has also recently undergone a slight restructure, in that we now work within small teams, which has resulted in me stepping into a team leader role. I believe this restructure has been a very positive step to ensure the best allocation of resources across all files and ensures that we are achieving the best results possible for clients in the most expeditious time frame possible.
However, notwithstanding the growth and changes that have occurred, at its core the firm still remains a very family-like, tight-knit group.
What are you looking forward to in your coming year with Gouldson Legal?
I am very much looking forward to contributing to the continued growth of the firm, and the immense satisfaction which is derived from achieving great results for our clients.
How do you spend your time away from the office?
Outside of the office, I spend my time with my beautiful wife and daughter. This of late has involved checking out every park in Brisbane so my daughter can partake in her new found obsession of riding on swings and slippery dips!
Being a sports tragic, I also enjoy a trip to the cricket or footy when time allows.
